Chef Frances Atkins makes great use of this fine location and the exceptional local produce. She creates clever and unexpected dishes that somehow avoid being fussy or over-complicated. The setting has an atmosphere that's difficult to convey in a photograph but so memorable it draws diners back again and again. The menu changes constantly, reflecting the fresh produce harvested from the Yorke Arms' own garden and from loyal local suppliers. I can recommend the Tasting Menu, full of novel twists and interesting combinations that you won't find anywhere else. There's a fine line between between "clever" and "contrived" - somehow the Yorke Arms manages to get it right every time.
Ramsgill is a lovely little village for a short wander. The Yorke Arms is directly on the small village green. Nearby is the little Ramsgill Studio where you'll find work by Sarah Garforth and other local artists
